Welcome to the Year 5

In Year 5, pupils begin the year fully immersed in our first project Dynamic Dynasties, which will see us learning all about Ancient China!  Our projects are diverse and broad with much scope for visits and interconnected learning across all subjects.

Visiting interesting places, relevant to our learning, is a fundamental part of what we offer and how we learn, so we will will plan in local trips as well as some further afield.  It is in Year 5, too, that some of our pupils are given the chance to visit Whitgift School for a week to extend their learning repertoire: they learn to play bongos, programme robots and get to grips with a language such as Mandarin Chinese or Japanese!

Our Year 5 staff are looking forward to working with the children and parents, and we are confident that they will have an enjoyable and memorable year.
