In Year 6, the children have been learning about the Somerset ruling as part of their English curriculum.
They explored the background of the case, discussed why it was such an important moment in history, and used a range of sources to create detailed fact files that explain its significance. This work linked closely with their RE lessons, where the class reflected on justice, equality, and human dignity, and created class charters on anti-racism. Together, these activities helped the pupils make meaningful connections between historical events, ethical values, and their own responsibilities in promoting fairness and respect.
