Year 3 art

This week in art, Year 3 were learning to use scale to enlarge drawings in a different medium.
Pupils had to sketch lightly so they could make changes easily by smudging the charcoal. They also needed to draw in the style of prehistoric artists, with simple, bold lines and shapes.
Did you know that we make charcoal in the same way today, by baking and firing pieces of willow branches in a kiln?
